PP&G is a ministry of support for deployed armed forces members. It began in 2006 with seven soldiers and rapidly grew to at least four mailings a year; averaging 100 boxes at the time of high deployments to the Middle East. Over 2,500 care packages have traveled around the world bringing greetings from the Cowboy Capital of the World to many who hadn't heard of Bandera.
P- prayers (a special group prays for each member)
P - packages (boxes are filled with homemade brownies, daily needs, and seasonal items)
G - greetings (a mail packet of letters and cards are included in each box
With the draw down of deployed members, mailings are much smaller now. However, at Christmas, BUMC assisted the Bandera Middle School choirs with a large mail out of Holiday cheer.
The church welcomes all names of deployed Armed Forces members and will include them in a future mailing if you submit their address. They need not be a local or church member. Just contact the office with your name, phone number, and their address.
May God keep them safe and bring them home healthy.
BUMC thanks all who have served our nation for their service and sacrifices.
