Kyle Toomire was born and raised in Odessa, TX. After graduating from Permian High School, he received his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin. While there, Kyle became actively involved in the Wesley Foundation where he met his future wife – it would only take him seven years to seal the deal. (Rachael knew early on that they were meant to be, but Kyle is sometimes slow on the upkeep!) Kyle began his ministry over twenty years ago when he began working with youth at First United Methodist Church of Austin, TX. While on staff there for over a decade, he organized and led countless mission trips, led worship in the Chapel and also launched a contemporary worship service. After several years on staff at FUMC Austin, he attended seminary at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary where he graduated with a Masters of Divinity.
Late in 2007, the United Methodist Church decided that the Kyle/Buda area was the perfect place to offer a new church and they appointed Kyle to begin this new venture. That is where Kyle and his family have been serving for the past ten years. And now, he looks forward to what else God has in store. His wife, Rachael, served for 11 years as a campus minister at the Texas Wesley Foundation before moving to Bandera. Her primary role was discipling young women. Kyle and Rachael have been blessed with two amazing sons – Elias (15yrs) and Micah (12yrs). The boys love sports, iPads, and going camping in their RV – among MANY other things. Their sons keep them on their toes and serve to remind them everyday of how good and awesome our God truly is! The Toomire family has loved life in the Cowboy Capital and is looking forward to even more adventures in Bandera! They are so excited to see what else God has in store for this beautiful town and amazing church community!
